imagination shines bright. I'm Kat. I'm Allison. Today is another extra special

StoryBeam Selects, the episode where our listeners get to pick the story. Who

picked your book today? This week's nomination comes from one of the

youngest book lovers we have ever heard from on StoryBeam. This nomination

comes all the way from Maryland from a very special listener named Broly. Who is

only two years old. Two years old and already picking the most amazing books.

shining a light on a gorgeous story by one of the most beloved picture book

authors and illustrators whoever lived. The incredible Eric Carle. We are reading

The Foolish Tortoise. What did the tortoise do? Well this little tortoise

wakes up one day and decides that his shell is just too heavy and too small.

So he does something very bold. He takes it off. What happened? Well you're going

Oh, that poor little tortoise. He thought his shell was holding him back but it turned out his shell was

protecting him and keeping him safe the whole time. He needs a shell. He absolutely

does and you know what that reminds me of? Sometimes the things that feel heavy

or different about us are actually the things that make us special and keep us

safe. We are all perfectly made exactly as we are. Co-host is there something

about yourself that you think is really special and uniquely you? My

imagination and creativity. That is one of my favorite things about you too. Like

you are just so creative and so imaginative. Never change it ever ever.
