selects, the episode where our listeners get to pick the story. Well, this one is

extra special because today's book was nominated by someone very important to

our co -host. This nomination comes all the way from Connecticut from a very

special StoryBeam listener named Tony, who also happens to be someone our co -host

loves very much. That's right! Papa Tony picked this week's book just for you and

honestly we think Papa has absolutely incredible taste. Today our StoryBeam

is shining a light on one of the most imaginative, creative, and magical story

ever written for little ones. We are reading Harold and the Purple Crayon by

Crockett Johnson. What is Harold going to draw today? That is the most wonderful

thing about Harold. He can draw absolutely anything he wants and it

comes to life before his eyes. A whole world created with just one little

Oh, Harold. He drew his way through the most incredible adventure and found his way home. All with just one purple crayon. Co-host, if

you had a magic purple crayon that could draw anything in the whole wide

world and make it come to life. What would you draw first? I would draw a

enormous palace for me to live in and I would draw a

enormous land full of unicorns and I would glitter land. Wow that sounds amazing

actually. I would want to live in your land too. You know what I love the most

about Harold's story? What? He never once felt lost or scared because he knew he

had everything he needed right in his own hand. Sometimes all you need is one

good idea and the courage to start drawing and that is the most important

lesson Papa could have ever sent our way. Thank you Papa. A huge story being
