What the cast said

Welcome back to StoryBeam, the daily podcast where imagination shines bright.

I'm Kat.

I'm Allison.

Happy Sunday Sparkle, friends!

It is time for Sunday Sparkle, our favorite time to get cozy, snuggle under the blankets,

and let our minds wander into a world of beautiful sounds and cozy dreams.

Tonight, our StoryBeam is shining a light on a little mouse who discovers the magic

of music for the very first time.

We are reading Geraldine, the Music Mouse by Leo Lionni.

She leveled a giant piece of cheese into a beautiful statue.

She really did!

And inside that statue, she discovered something even more wonderful, music.

Let's cuddle up and hear how Geraldine learned to share that magic with all her friends.

Let's get our ears on.

I've got mine.

Ready?

Three, two, one.

Let's read!

Here the cast reads Geraldine, the Music Mouse by Leo Lionni. The book's own words stay with its author and publisher, so that part of the recording is not written out. Press play to hear it.

What a cozy, magical story to end our week.

It reminds us that art and music can touch our hearts

in ways that last far longer than a tasty snack.

Co-host, if you could make a sculpture out of anything in the world

to hide a secret surprise inside, what would you make it out of?

I think it would be foil.

Yeah?

Why foil?

Because it would be rainbow foil

and it would be a very easy way to map something.

That sounds really cool.

That would be the dreamiest thing to imagine right before bedtime.

To keep that wonderful creative inspiration going,

our StoryBeam suggestion is another classic by Leo Lionni called Frederick.

It's a peaceful, timeless story about a little field mouse

who gathers colors, sunshine, and words to warm his family through the cold winter.

Dream sweet, beautiful music tonight.

Yes, dream sweet dreams.

Thank you so much for wrapping up week five with us on StoryBeam Families.

Rest up and we will see you tomorrow morning to kick off week six.

And don't forget...

Keep on reading!

Bye!

After the story

Kat's takeaway: art and music touch our hearts longer than a tasty snack. A quiet one for the end of the week.

If you could make a sculpture out of anything in the world to hide a secret surprise inside, what would you make it out of?

Geraldine heard music nobody else could hear. What do you notice that others walk past?

What would you carve, and what would be hidden in it?
